AADE Fellows Program
AADE welcomes and congratulates its new fellows. This group joins a distinguished group of diabetes educators that are recognized for outstanding contributions to diabetes education through clinical practice, research, education or health policy.

The Fellows designation was developed in 2008 in response to member requests for a program that would acknowledge established and accomplished educators. Current AADE Fellows are:

Individuals who want to be considered for FAADE selection must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Possess a baccalaureate degree
- Be a current AADE member, with a minimum of five consecutive years of membership
- Possess ten years of experience in the field of diabetes education as a diabetes educator, clinician or researcher and/or hold one or both of the following credentials: certified diabetes educator (CDE) or board certified in advanced diabetes management (BC-ADM)
In addition to meeting the minimum requirements, the candidates must complete the application form, and include a personal essay, two letters of recommendation one of which should be from a current Fellow of a healthcare association, and other supporting documents that show evidence of their outstanding service to the field of diabetes education.
Individuals applying to become Fellows will be assessed a non-refundable, non-transferable application fee of $250. There will be an additional annual fee of $100. to maintain the fellowship status.
AADE Fellows will be entitled to a discounted registration rate for the AADE Annual Meeting and Exhibition. Fellows will also be publically acknowledged at each annual meeting.
