AADE Names David Westman Interim CEO
For Release: February 3, 2012
The American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) announced today that David Westman, MBA, CAE, CPA, has been named Interim Chief Executive Officer effective February 6, 2012.
The appointment followed the announcement that current CEO, Lana Vukovljak, was leaving to assume the position of Executive Vice President and CEO of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry in Washington, DC.
“While this represents a period of change for AADE, our leadership is strong and we look forward to continuing to focus on the pursuit of better opportunities for diabetes educators and greater awareness of the value of diabetes education,” said Sandra Burke, AADE’s 2012 President.
“At the same time, the AADE Board of Directors thanks Lana Vukovljak for her six years of service to AADE and the introduction of many initiatives that have strengthened AADE and made it a more valuable resource for diabetes educators and the diabetes care community. We certainly wish her success as she pursues a new career opportunity.”
