Deborah Fillman, MS, RD, LD, CDE

Deborah Fillman is a registered and licensed dietitian and a certified diabetes educator. She served as AADE President in 2010.  

Fillman is the Public Health Director for the Green River District Health Department in Owensboro, Kentucky. In this role, she is responsible for the public health services in a seven county region and 250 employees.

Prior to that, Fillman was the community education director for the Green River District Health Department, including oversight of the following programs:  Kentucky Diabetes Prevention and Control Program, as well as the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and the following community-based programs: tobacco prevention, physical activity promotion, abstinence promotion and breastfeeding promotion.

Fillman has also been an active AADE volunteer since 1989. Additionally, she has served in many capacities with the American Dietetic Association, and has been a member of the Board of Directors for Western Kentucky University - Owensboro Campus since 1998.

Fillman earned a Masters of Science degree in Foods and Nutrition, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and Institutional Administration from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY.
