Donna Rice, MBA, BSN, RN, CDE
Donna Rice assumed the role of immediate past president of the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) on January 1, 2008. As immediate past president, Rice sits on AADE's Executive Committee and serves as chair of the Nominating Committee.
Rice is presently a Wellness Program Manager for the Botsford Hospital's Center for Lifestyle Management in Novi, Michigan. Additionally, Rice acts as a Consultant for Wellness, Diabetes Management and Care, Men's Health, Sexual Dysfunction, and Nursing Care.
Rice received her Registered Nurses Diploma from Saint Anne's Hospital School of Nursing (Chicago) in 1973, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1976 from the Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan. She also received a Master in Business Administration from Baker College of Business in Flint, Michigan.
Rice has been involved with diabetes management for the past 20 years. Among her many accomplishments, she created a program focusing on men's health issues which concentrates on sexual dysfunction and prostate disease.
Rice has also chaired a national task force and developed a national program on erectile dysfunction for the American Association of Diabetes Educators. She is frequently called upon to speak on the topic of diabetes education and has authored many publications on sexual dysfunction as it relates to diabetes, as well as numerous publications on diabetes care.
