EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
AADE Chief Executive Officer
Lana Vukovljak, MA, MS
Lana Vukovljak was appointed AADE's Chief Executive Officer in February 2006 and assumed the duties of AADE's Corporate Secretary. Vukovljak is responsible for management of AADE staff and oversight of its $12.8 million budget. She also provides strategic leadership, program administration, and advice and counsel to AADE’s chief officers and board of directors.
AADE is a multi-disciplinary organization of nearly 11,000 health professionals dedicated to providing and advocating for quality diabetes self-management training.
Vukovljak joined the AADE staff in 2005 as the Chief Learning Officer. In July 2006, she was asked to step in and fill the role of Interim CEO in addition to her regular duties. She handled the dual role impressively, developing innovative professional development opportunities for our members, seeking new partnerships with industry and other major players in the diabetes care community, and promoting the importance of diabetes self-management education within the larger healthcare field.
Vukovljak has over 25 years of experience managing, designing and implementing continuing education courses and professional development opportunities in both the nonprofit and academic sectors.
Prior to joining AADE, she served as the Vice President of Continuing Education and Training at the American Health Information Management Association. In this role, she was responsible for providing leadership and direction for continuing education and training, developing new business and strategic partnerships, and succeeded in generating $13 million in non-dues revenue.
Vukovljak is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Educational Leadership at the University of Nebraska. She received an MS in Technical Communication and Information Design from the Illinois Institute of Technology and an MA in Science of Language and Adult Education and BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Belgrade in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia.
