Save the Date, July 31, 2012 and Be An AADE Advocate!
As part of the AADE Grassroots Advocacy strategic initiative we have been facilitating a
national effort to educate diabetes educators how to better advocate on behalf of their profession
and patients as well as better communicate relevant diabetes issues to their state legislators and

"fly-in" trainings to the State Legislative Coordinators(SLCs) so they can take their knowledge
back to their communities.

Social media outlets are by nature grassroots platforms. They make available a way for
communities, not only to network, but to form around issues. With 57% of the population
talking to people more online than they do in real life it only makes sense to embrace this as
another conduit to engage in discussion.
Join the AADE social media today!
- AADE Facebook to network with your colleagues and connect with people from all over the country
who have similar interests
- Join the AADE LinkedIN network to establish professional and business relationships
- Follow AADE on twitter to receive quick and easy information regarding diabetes education and
related issues
Remember to use #AADE12 when tweeting during the Annual Meeting in Indianapolis!
