Presentation Formats

Presentation formats for research include oral presentations and poster presentations. The description of each format is as follows:

Call for Abstracts

Oral Presentation (maximum of two presenters)
Oral presentations are 90-minute sessions which should include 10-15 minutes for questions and answers. Types of oral presentations are:
  1. Application to Practice – an opportunity to share actual practice strategies while promoting the development of your presentation skills
    • Describe your practice, define the problem that you are addressing, give background on the subject (i.e. history, current issues), describe what you did, describe the benefits or outcomes of your activity, suggest further activities (if appropriate)
    • Focus will be on two AADE Initiatives: Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), AADE7 Self-Care Behaviors TM
  2. General focus

Poster Presentations
Poster Presentations are visual displays on a selected topic that provide an opportunity for discussion. They may include photographs, charts or graphs that illustrate the topic. Posters should be 3 feet high x 3 feet wide.

Research Sessions

Oral Presentations (maximum of two presenters)
  • 30 minutes including five minutes for questions and answers
  • Three presentations will be scheduled within the 90-minute session
Poster Presentations (maximum of two presenters)
  • Visual displays on a selected topic that provides an opportunity for discussion
  • Posters should be 3 feet high x 3 feet wide
