You must be a healthcare professional who has a defined role as a diabetes education. Practice as a diabetes educator is defined as being gainfully employed and providing professional care and self-management education to people with diabetes.
Information to help you prepare for one of the following credentials: Board Certified-Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM): AADE's certification for advanced level practitioners. Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE): fully administered and maintained by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE).
The AADE is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the Commission on Accreditation (ANCC) and the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) in addition to the California Board of Registered Nursing (CBRN).
