Diabetes Prevention Covered in 2018
In November, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) 2017 Physician Fee schedule was released with responses on diabetes prevention and diabetes self-management training (DSTM). AADE is pleased to see Medicare’s continued focus on ensuring that the National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) will be a reimbursable benefit starting January 2018.

AADE has been working with CDC since 2012 to develop and scale the AADE DPP model of delivering the National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) within accredited/recognized DSME programs. Due to our successful model, in 2017 we will offer opportunities for DSME programs and diabetes educators to become more involved in the prevention space.
