Over the past couple of years, the primary goal of the AADE Foundation has been to build greater alignment with AADE’s mission and strategic plan. In 2018, the Foundation will offer several new scholarships that reflect on AADE’s strategic initiatives. These scholarships will help to involve more diverse educators in our programs, serve in-need communities, offer more opportunities for educators to be engaged, build workforce credentials, and develop leadership skills.
There are a variety of scholarships offered for 2018, including ones to attend the AADE Annual Conference, a DPP Lifestyle Coach Training, a CORE Concepts Course, or the annual AADE Public Policy Forum. The Foundation will also be offering scholarships to attend Taking Control of Your Diabetes (TCOYD) regional meetings and providing Diabetes Educator Fellowships for the Children with Diabetes (CWD) Annual Conference. There are also a few named scholarships that are awarded to diabetes educators who meet specific requirements. Please keep an eye on the AADE website, as more information about these scholarships and the application process will be available in early 2018.
The Foundation relies on contributions from both members and corporations to provide these scholarships. Would you like to help support the Foundation’s scholarship program? If so, please visit the AADE website to make a secure online donation or download a donation form to mail or fax.
As a special thank you to all those who donate, you will be recognized on AADE’s website. All contributions to the Foundation are tax-deductible.
