I recently read a blog about a chapter with another association that hosted monthly micro-involvement events that they named “New Member Mingles.”
New members of the chapter are sent email invitations to attend an upcoming “mingle” where they can enjoy coffee and donuts and network in a small group setting. As they leave the chapter also gives each attendee a coupon for a special discount on an upcoming educational program or event.
What a great way for new members to learn about your group’s activities—but it also serves another purpose. Pati and I often hear how our MY AADE NETWORK groups struggle to find new volunteers. Maybe by having events just for new members, you will also be able to recruit new volunteers. Think back to when you joined AADE—what would have a personal ask from a current leader meant to you?
Why not try hosting a New Member Mingle next month!
