Since 2012, the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) has been in a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to expand access to and reimbursement for people at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes to partake in the CDC led, evidence-based National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP).
In our work with CDC we promote the National DPP as covered healthcare benefit, ensuring the program is delivered with quality assurances and available to all eligible participants. AADE has built infrastructure at our national office to support a network of nationally certified DSME programs to deliver the National DPP called “AADE DPP Sites”.
Our goal is to get DPP programs up and running and ready to obtain CDC Preliminary/Full Recognition so they can bill Medicare and other payers, and ensure programs are efficient, effective and sustainable. We are now ready and able to provide all interested organizations with our support and services through the AADE Prevention Network ©!
This is a one-stop shop for all your prevention needs! Access everything from CDC templates and marketing materials, access to tools to manage costs and sell the program as a covered benefit, to the latest research on type 2 diabetes prevention. You can even connect with other program coordinators or lifestyle coaches in a special forum dedicated to sharing ideas and solving problems together. Organizations can gain access to the latest reimbursement data receiving updates on payer coverage, reimbursement, and policy information. The AADE Prevention Networks also includes our Data Analytics of Participants System (DAPS)- your hub for all participant data tracking and analytics.
View a demo video for DAPS, highlighting the functionality and the benefits of using the system. DAPS will reduce your input time, risk for human error and increase your ability to reach your program and participant goals because you will have access to real time data and analytics for sites, cohorts, and participants. The analytics report gives high-level views of your program and how it compares to CDC standards. Detailed, up-to-the minute information on your program gives you the data you need to understand what can be improved.
All of the documents from both the AADE Prevention Network and DAPS reports are printer friendly and can be easily downloaded from the site to your personal computer. Get de-identified reporting available for intelligent marketing, payer and grant requirements.
The AADE Prevention Network can be purchased as an annual subscription for one low price of $400 per organization. Check it out today at preventionsimplified.org.
If you are one of the many programs already offering diabetes prevention but not receiving – or maximizing – reimbursement, then that is about to change. Currently, AADE offers a CDC approved Lifestyle Coach Trainings, Building Your Diabetes Prevention Program Workshops, and Reimbursement Boot camp (www.diabeteseducators.org/dpp ) to help DPP staff navigate this changing landscape. AADE knows we need all hands on deck in order to serve the 86 million Americans (1 in 3 adults) with prediabetes!
