We are heading to Indianapolis in August, the “Racing Capital of the World,” for an amazing AADE17.

Technology is always changing and in the “Race of Technology,” it’s best to be a driver on the track. That is why I’m so excited about this year’s conference; we have so much new technology to share!

We start the race with an entire education track dedicated to technology: “Pioneer Diabetes Technologies and Connected Health Modalities to Deliver Cost-Effective Care.” With a dozen sessions to choose from, this track is sure to put the educator in the driver’s seat for bringing home information to use in practice.

On Friday, I’m looking forward to learning about how to “Leverage Diabetes and Digital Technology” with Charlotte Hayes and Zach Monette as they talk about diabetes, health and performance technology with the cycling team.

After the first lap, come back Saturday! Learn about “Diabetes Technology in the Wild: What Matters to Patients and How to Keep Up” with diabetes online community leaders Adam Brown and Amy Tenderich as they delve into real-world usability of diabetes products. Then Neal Kaufman, Jennifer Schneider and Scott Johnson will be discussing “Finding New Ways to Deliver DSMES to Cut Through The Clutter.”

Sunday continues with sessions on “Making Sense of Glucose Data - Meters & CGM” with Alison Evert, and Janice MacLeod and Melinda Peeples will share “Population Health Diabetes Education: Leveraging Digital Health and Patient Generated Health Data (PGHD)."

On Monday, attend a session about “Obtaining Coverage for and Using CGM Technology in Infants and Very Young Children” with Claudia Harris as she discusses insurance coverage and writing appeals to insurers for CGM.

This is just a taste of the technology education you will find at AADE17. Be sure to check out all sessions in the registration guide.

The race gets really exciting when we hit Sunday.

We’re bringing technology to the main stage with keynote speaker Chris Bergstrom, the Digital Health Lead at BCG. Chris has a passion for technology in diabetes and I’m excited to hear him talk about healthcare transformation in the space!

The race doesn’t stop there. One of my favorite parts about AADE17 is the exhibit hall. This isn’t just a pit stop; you will be able to fuel your curiosity and learn about the latest diabetes trends from over 200 vendors.

Technology is always changing, and in the world of diabetes, it’s changing fast! Marc Anderessen said, “You are cruising along, and then technology changes. You have to adapt.” I’m looking forward to racing to Indy and seeing you there!
