The thing I love most about the AADE Annual Conference is getting to network with such talented, diverse and motivated group of diabetes educators! I always come away with new ideas and inspirations in just talking with people about what they do. For me, YOU are the reason to attend the AADE Annual Conference. Did you know that your unique perspective, and how you see the world of diabetes will often inspire my next blog post? It’s true, my biggest inspiration for writing comes from the people I meet and their experiences. If you’re looking for inspiration for your CB or COI, this is the right place!

Did you know there are seven different scheduled opportunities for networking at the AADE17?! The first one I want to call your attention to is the Coordinating Body (CB) and Community of Interest (COI) Networking Reception on Thursday, August 3 at 5:00 p.m. This event will allow you to visit with leaders of each CB and COI. It will also give you a chance to catch up with each other and the fabulous AADE staff. This is one of my favorite events because it’s a mixture of seasoned AADE leaders and people just becoming interested in the possibility of volunteering.

There are few things I love more than meeting someone who has a totally different experience and background than me in this field. I find diabetes educators to be such a versatile group of people that I always learn something new. Please plan to attend!

The second event I want to call your attention to is the AADE Celebration on Sunday, August 6 at 8:00 p.m. If you have not purchased your ticket yet, they are $20 and you can buy them at the registration desk. Here’s a great opportunity to support AADE, visit with each other and talk about all the exciting things you’ve learned and seen so far.  I hope YOU will consider joining me at the celebration event as well.
