April is National Volunteer Month!

Undoubtedly you know this because across the country local communities are shouting the praises of their volunteers and giving thanks. For many the celebrations will focus on the official week of April 10 - 17. Maybe you are already celebrating at your workplace. Are you celebrating in your Coordinating Body, Local Networking Group or Community of Interest? This is a great opportunity to highlight the members who are getting the work done and to encourage others. So, let's get celebrating!
Tip from 1st Quarter LNG Incentive Qualifiers

2016 Public Policy Forum
Friday, May 13th – Saturday, May 14th
All Coordinating Body leaders and State Grassroots Coordinators should have received an invitation to our annual Public Policy Forum by now. This is a two-day education and training event that will cover the advocacy initiatives, process for moving legislation forward, strategies for connecting with state and federal legislators, and much more.
New Forms for Continuing Education (CE) Hours
AADE is excited to announce updates to the process for CBs and LNGs requesting continuing education hours (CE hours) for your programs. The new planning forms are streamlined from the previous “CE Application” process forms. These planning forms are exclusive to AADE CBs and LNGs and are accessible in the Volunteer Leader Resource Center.
The National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE) has been busy these past few years. NCBDE appreciates the opportunity to provide AADE’s volunteer leaders with some highlights and information that may be helpful.

AADE National is bringing back the inclusive, COI and CB Networking Event where all COIs and CBs have an
opportunity to showcase and introduce their groups to Annual Meeting attendees in the same
place and at the same time!
