Positive self-talk is crucial to managing emotions such as apprehension, and giving patience and time a chance to work results in better clarity and clear perspectives.
Tips for Preparing for Grant Requests—Every Piece of the Puzzle Counts

Assembling a medical education grant request can be compared to putting together the pieces of a puzzle. Here the pieces include a needs assessment, a program plan, a set of learning objectives, defined outcomes, an agenda, and a justified budget. If all of the pieces are provided and meet or exceed the bar of excellence set by the funder, success is likely. On the other hand, if a single piece is viewed as deficient, the grant request may be denied without explanation.

Rediscover AADE's Practice Area Discussion Groups

Practice Area Discussion Groups have been in existence for over a year now, but we wanted to remind you of some of the burgeoning discussions going on in them that you may be missing out on. As part of the formation process for new Communities of Interest (COIs), potential COIs start out as Practice Area Discussion Groups. By doing this first, AADE members have time to get the conversation and engagement of other members started, without having to focus on developing a leadership team or action plan.
Meet a New AADE Volunteer: Jessica Kirk, RN, CDE
My name is Jessica Kirk and I am an RN, CDE in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I currently work for an innovative program that is designed to expand access to specialty diabetes management in rural and under served patients at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. I have had type 1 diabetes for 25 years and struggled tremendously in my younger years.

With Election Day right around the corner, we are anticipating a very busy 2017 legislative season in the area of healthcare. AADE Advocacy strongly encourages all Coordinating Body Leaders to fill the important role of State Grassroots Coordinator (SGC). Advocacy is an integral part of the AADE mission and our members are on the front line advocating for better care for all people with diabetes both at the federal and state levels. Volunteer to serve as an AADE Continuing Education (CE) Reviewer!
AADE is seeking volunteer peer reviewers for 2017 Live and Self-Study continuing education activities. The educational content of these diabetes related activities need to be reviewed by healthcare professional peer reviewers. As a volunteer peer reviewer, you will ensure that these continuing education activities are of high quality and are in compliance with the standards of the organizations that accredit AADE to provide continuing education (CE). Involvement as an AADE reviewer adds to your professional development and provides you the opportunity to ensure the integrity of AADE education programs.
