Emotional Intelligence Novel Observations

By: Jeanna Rhoulhac, RDN, CDE, LD/N

With Hurricane preparations well underway; apprehension sets in as uncertainty regarding the events about to unfold and leaves us wondering how to best cope with that uncertainty…and how to maintain a positive mindset. Positive self-talk is crucial to managing emotions such as apprehension, and giving patience and time a chance to work results in better clarity and clear perspectives.

Tips for Preparing for Grant Requests—Every Piece of the Puzzle Counts

By: Catherine O'Brian, PhD, Medical Education Writer and Project Manager

Catherine O'BrienAssembling a medical education grant request can be compared to putting together the pieces of a puzzle. Here the pieces include a needs assessment, a program plan, a set of learning objectives, defined outcomes, an agenda, and a justified budget. If all of the pieces are provided and meet or exceed the bar of excellence set by the funder, success is likely. On the other hand, if a single piece is viewed as deficient, the grant request may be denied without explanation.

Rediscover AADE's Practice Area Discussion Groups

By: John Tyler, Web and Digital Content Manager

Practice Area Discussion Groups have been in existence for over a year now, but we wanted to remind you of some of the burgeoning discussions going on in them that you may be missing out on. As part of the formation process for new Communities of Interest (COIs), potential COIs start out as Practice Area Discussion Groups. By doing this first, AADE members have time to get the conversation and engagement of other members started, without having to focus on developing a leadership team or action plan.
