It's Time to Apply or Nominate a Colleague for the 2018 AADE Awards

Each year during the AADE Annual Conference, we recognize excellence in diabetes education and service to the association and the larger diabetes community. AADE offers a variety of awards to celebrate those individuals who have gone beyond. Do not miss out - the deadline to apply is March 1. Start your application today.

Lifetime Achievement Award
Recognizes an individual who exemplifies the proud history of diabetes education and serves as an extraordinary role model. A $1,000 donation is made to the AADE Foundation in honor of the recipient.

Allene Van Son Distinguished Service Award
Recognizes outstanding contributions and service to this association in honor of the first AADE President. A $1,000 donation is made to the AADE Foundation in honor of the recipient.

NEW Strategic Initiative Award
This award recognizes a member whose work reinforces AADE's Strategic Goals in Diversity or New Models of Care to achieve the outcomes inspired by AADE's mission and vision. The recipient receives a one-year AADE membership and complimentary registration to the AADE Annual Conference

Diabetes Educator of the Year Award
Honors a diabetes educator who has made a special contribution to the field through dedication, innovation and sensitivity in patient care. This award is given for the next consecutive year. The recipient receives an award of $5,000 towards the delivery of educational programs.

Rising Star Award
This award recognizes a diabetes educator who has less than three years of diabetes education experience and has demonstrated leadership and commitment in their practice. The recipient receives a one-year AADE membership and complimentary registration to the AADE Annual Conference.

AADE/Children with Diabetes - Friends for Life Fellowship Program The AADE member who is selected for this award will attend the Children with Diabetes - Friends for Life program in Orlando. The five-day conference will offer the recipient an opportunity to participate in the program, interact with families, program faculty, and association leaders.
