What it Takes to Become an ADCES Fellow
ADCES® fellows are a distinguished group of diabetes care and education specialists recognized for providing exceptional diabetes care and education.
Our Fellows Program recognizes those leaders in our field who have made outstanding contributions to ADCES and diabetes care and education through clinical practice, research, education or health policy, including the development and implementation of mentorship programs for diabetes care and education specialists.

Frequently Asked Questions About ADCES Fellows
Since this is an ADCES Fellows Program, the most important items on the application are your contributions to ADCES and to the diabetes care and education specialty. We highly recommend being involved as a volunteer with ADCES on the national, state and local levels. It’s also important to contribute to scholarly activities like editorial boards, publications and presentations.
The personal essays are reviewed to ensure the word count doesn’t exceed 750 words. If the word count exceeds 750 words, we would contact you and request that you edit your essay to meet the 750-word requirement.
Yes, the application fee is part of the application submission. Even if you’re not selected as a fellow for the year you applied, the fee will not be refunded to you. As a result, we encourage you to talk with other ADCES fellows to be sure that your application meets all the criteria before applying to be an ADCES fellow. If you’re not selected and you apply the following year or even a few years later, you’ll need to pay the application fee again. Of course, we always encourage you to connect with ADCES staff members if you have any questions or concerns about your FADCES application.
