The national prevalence of T2D has grown in parallel with rates of obesity, and this silent “twindemic” represents an alarming health crisis in all communities. Collaborative interprofessional care with Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (DCES) is essential to improve patient awareness and health literacy. This interactive symposium, with charismatic expert clinicians presenting information in a conversational style on the Med Table Talk™ platform, will focus on overcoming clinical inertia, weight loss as a treatment target, why it is important to understand the newest data on the role and effects of incretins, and shared decision making for sustained weight loss and glucose management. Both prescribers and non-prescribers will be given strategies to help their patients from all backgrounds and life experiences reach their glycemic and weight-loss goals.
