Insights on how to skillfully deliver virtual care

This session will explore the lessons learned through successful remote monitoring of diabetes-related foot conditions through telemedicine and use of innovative devices in order to avoid lower extremity complications during the COVID-19 pandemic.

There is a tremendous opportunity for diabetes care and education specialists to implement telehealth and remote monitoring to increase access and optimize care for people with diabetes. This session will demonstrate how diabetes care and education specialists can maximize remote care for people with diabetes.

This session will discuss how to navigate telehealth platforms, integrate technology, provide effective outreach, utilize tools for engagement and provide support. Attention to addressing potential barriers and access to care in this new landscape will also be covered.
